Premature birth and child mortality are the highest it's ever been in Haiti. The main culprit for that is malnutrition. One in fifteen children in need of surgical or medical treatment dies in Haiti. That's approximately 2700 children under five. Pair that with other poverty factors and it makes the situation much worse.
